AASHTOWare Project™ accounts
Last updated: 2024-09-10
The AASHTOWare Project (AWP) system is used by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to perform these functions:
- Create engineer's estimates.
- Manage the bid letting and award process.
- Administer construction and maintenance contracts.
- Meet requirements for civil rights and labor.
- Enter material reports.
The system requires both a Wisconsin Web Access Management (WAMS) and an AASHTOWare Project™ (AWP) account for authentication purposes.
Go to the WAMS account management page for detailed instructions to create a new WAMS ID, reset a WAMS ID password, unlock a WAMS account, or to change WAMS account information including name, password, e-mail address, telephone number, or address.
Go to the WisDOT AASHTOWare Project (AWP) Account Request form to request a new AASHTOWare Project™ account or to notify the AASHTOWare Project Administrators that you have switched employers (note in the additional comments section that you made an employment change).
WisDOT staff, consultants, and contractors may request an AASHTOWare Project account if you have the following information:
- Wisconsin Web Access Management System (WAMS) ID
- WisDOT and consultant staff must provide the email address of their WisDOT Supervisor or Project Manager who will approve their account request. All contractors must provide the email address of a representative from their company management who will approve their account request.
- Your business contact information is required to complete this survey and includes your business address, phone number(s), and email address.
- Know which system roles you need to request to perform assigned work.
Go to the WisDOT AASHTOWare Project™ (AWP) Account Modification Request form to add or delete system roles, to renew an AWP account that has expired or is about to expire, request name changes, or update business contact information including changes to employer, business address or phone number.
To view and update the business address, email address, or contact name tied to your WAMS ID or to reset your WAMS ID password, go to https://on.wisconsin.gov/WAMS/home and select "Profile Management".
Here is a list of the current AWP account roles for each module, a description of the role, and if the role requires construction contract specific authority.
- Staff should not select roles outside of their scope of work. Doing so could delay the processing of an account request.
- Construction related roles that require contract specific authority to access a construction contract are noted on the table below. Do not use the account request surveys to request contract specific authority changes. These types of requests should be sent via email to either the region Contract Specialist or the Project Engineer administering the construction contract.
