WisDOT AASHTOWare Project 5.06 Enhancements for Payroll

 

Effective October 23, 2026

 

WisDOT will upgrade to AASHTOWare Project version 5.06. Listed below are the enhancements this upgrade brings to the CRL Payroll process.

 

Allow reporting of Medicare separately from FICA

Note: Separating them is not required for those who are reporting them combined in FICA.

Error message when entering a payroll that has a previously assigned payroll number with different payroll begin and end dates.

 

Additional Overtime Rate and Hours (Manual Entry Only)

For hourly employees, previous versions of AWP had a Straight Hourly Rate and an Overtime Hourly Rate. You needed to create a second employee record when the employee had a third pay rate in the same pay period.

 

5.06 will include a third pay rate in the employee record called Additional Overtime Hourly Rate.

 

 

Overtime Fringe Rates

On the employee payroll record, a second set of fringe rates can be entered. These rates will be applied to any OT and Additional OT hours.

Note: If you choose to use the OT Fringe fields, we recommend you enter a value in each one, even when it is a zero. Otherwise, the normal fringe rates will be used for the OT hours.

The fields in red have been relocated on the form. The blue are the new fields related to Medicare and Additional Overtime.

 

  • The employee information box is now a part of the payroll entry page. (previously a modal window)

 

  • Contract Project ID: Can only select the project ID which has the wage decision.

 

  • Labor Classification: Can only select labor classifications which are included in the projects wage decision
