e-Ticketing

Last updated: 2024-11-05

WisDOT is moving towards a paperless materials ticketing process, often referred to as e-Ticketing, to enhance productivity, reduce environmental impacts, and improve safety across state job sites. e-Ticketing provides digital means to produce, transmit, and share materials data to track and verify material deliveries. The hope is this will streamline inspections and improve contract administration.

As we enter into the 2024 construction season, WisDOT will share information on the WisDOT Portal which allows project field staff to connect to asphalt, concrete and aggregate producers to exchange material data. This can be done using a laptop or mobile device and staff will need a log on account for the WisDOT Portal. WisDOT will share information on how to obtain log on credentials at a future date TBD.

The preliminary WisDOT e-Ticketing implementation plan includes:

  • 2024 – Publish e-Ticketing specification and include on select contracts.
  • 2025 - Increase the number of contracts using e-Ticketing.
  • 2026 - e-Ticketing required on most WisDOT let contracts.
    • 2026 implementation will be based on lessons learned from 2024 and 2025

The WisDOT Portal is provided by HaulHub and will allow WisDOT staff to connect to any vendor software and equipment to manage e-Tickets. HaulHub is an e-ticketing software company, which will allow WisDOT to create a simple connection through the WisDOT Portal to integrate with the Contractor’s selected e-Ticketing vendor software. HaulHub is licensed through AASHTOWare and will connect to AASHTOWare Project Construction.

For suppliers with existing systems, the WisDOT Portal provides API (Application Programming Interface) connection access, or HaulHub will assist in setting up this connection. For suppliers without a provider, HaulHub can provide a no-cost solution to ensure that e-tickets are sent to the WisDOT Portal. We encourage all members to reach out to HaulHub directly regarding APIs, or visit www.haulhub.com/wisconsin-department-of-transportation, to begin the process of connecting e-tickets.

Training sessions:

WisDOT will be conducting a pilot that extends from the March 2024 LET through the July 2024 LET on selected proposals that will require electronic load tickets on certain bid items. See the proposals for the bid items requiring electronic load ticketing.

Info:
WisDOT is NOT directing the use a specific vendor for e-Ticketing. There are multiple vendors that provide e-ticketing solutions.
