Daily Work Report (DWR) approval process

1. Log into AASHTOWare Project.
   
   
2. Select the appropriate role (home button action arrow and select the role).
   
   
3. Follow these steps based on your role, to access the Contract Progress Summary component | Daily Work Reports tab:

   Project Engineer

   1. From the dashboard, select the Contract Progress hyperlink under the Construction component.
      
      
   2. Select the contract under Contract Administration Overview by searching for the Contract ID, controlling project ID, region, county or contractor in the search box.
   3. Click on the contract ID hyperlink for the contract you are working on.
      
      

   Inspector role

   1. From the dashboard, select the Contract Progress hyperlink under the Inspector Links.
      
      
   2. Select the contract under Contract Administration Overview by searching for the Contract ID, controlling project ID, region, county or contractor in the search box.
   3. Click on the contract ID hyperlink for the project you are working on.
      
      
      
4. On the Contract Progress Overview component, select the Daily Work Reports tab
   
5. Select an existing DWR under Contract Progress Summary | Daily Work Reports tab by searching for the DWR Date or Inspector in the search box.
   
   

Inspectors can either Submit for Approval or Approve draft DWRs. If an Inspector approves an DWR, the Project Engineer does not have to review the DWR to attach it to a Daily Diary. If an Inspector places a DWR in pending approval status, the Project Engineer must review and approve the DWR to attach it to the Daily Diary.

1. From the Contract Progress Summary component, select the Daily Work Reports tab.
2. Search for the DWR.
3. Select the DWR to approve or submit for approval.
   1. Select Daily Work Report Row Actions Menu | Approve
      OR
   2. Select Daily Work Report Row Actions Menu | Submit For Approval. If submitted for approval, the Project Engineer or other field staff as assigned, will review and approve the DWR.
      

Info: DWRs can also be approved or submitted for approval within an individual Contract Daily Work Report Summary component.
Select Open Component Actions Menu | Approve
OR
Select Open Component Actions Menu | Submit for Approval.

Project Engineers should review both the approved and pending approval Daily Work Reports from the Inspector(s).

1. From the Contract Progress Summary component, select the Daily Work Reports tab.
2. Click on the Sequence hyperlink to open a Daily Work Report.
3. Once the review is complete, choose one of the following actions from the Daily Work Report Row Actions Menu:
   • Approve
   • Reject (If previously approved by the Inspector.)
   • Change to Draft (If previously approved and then rejected by either the Project Manager or the Inspector.)

The Inspector completes these steps to edit a DWR and resubmit approval.

1. From the Contract Progress Summary component, select the Daily Work Reports tab.
2. Click on the Sequence hyperlink to open the Daily Work Report.
   
3. From the Contract Daily Work Report Summary component, select the Daily Work Report Row Actions Menu | Change to Draft
   
   
4. Edit the DWR. Click <Save> to save changes.
   
   
5. To approve the estimate, complete one of the following steps:
   1. Daily Work Report Row Actions Menu | Approve
      OR
   2. Daily Work Report Row Actions Menu | Submit for Approval
      
      

Info: Inspectors can also review and open rejected DWRs for multiple contracts from their dashboard.
